Anton was not inclined to his usual early morning after a festive night. The festivities wound down in the wee hours of the morning where the dancing, the drinking and the general good times continued unhindered. He hadn't overindulged in the drink, preferring to keep his wits about himself and not do anything scandalous, but he was still rather weary when he retired to his family's wing of the palace. The sun was well on the way towards its zenith when he finally rolled out of bed, stretching languidly before he washed and dressed, then headed to the family's sitting room in search of food, coffee and his siblings. They had some matters to discuss and two of them, he knew, had some questions to answer.
Thanking the servant who delivered a heaping platter of eggs, sausage, toast, pastries and some other delectables, along with a large pot of coffee, the salty dog of the family applied himself to breakfast with relish. He shared his father's appetite for good food, thinking nothing of polishing off a rasher's worth of bacon, numerous eggs, half a loaf of bread and what not. He didn't do it often, of course, but when on land, Anton availed himself of what excellent food was available. The food on board ship was nothing to boast of, after all.
Unsure if his siblings had risen yet, he slowed down to better enjoy the meal and of course, to lie in wait for them. He had a feeling his gentle little sister might be awake first, and their upright, noble elder brother shortly following unless he pulled duty that morning. Regardless, Anton was a patient man. He had all day to wait for them... and they would come. It was only a matter of time.
