Truth be told, Riccardo too had fussed over his appearance that morning. He had selectively chosen what to wear, including some of the finer pieces he owned, as he would be seen in the house of their Duke, Duke Antonin Deliambre. Whether the other man was about to see him personally was of little importance, he simply felt it would not be polite to appear in shambles. Further, he knew Lia had worried about what to wear - he could hear her and Flora in her quarters - and so he thought it best he match her idea. He'd asked both women for their approval before he set out with her on his arm, for the stroll that would take them to the appropriate home within the Lavender Quarter.
He'd not been inside since their arrival, or ever really, but from the outside he thought the place was impeccable. It wasn't like their castle, certainly, but as a second home he thought they would be comfortable indeed. The inside, from what he could see of the entrance, was just as impressive, and it looked homely despite the fact that as far as he knew the family did not usually live here, no more than the Orsini. A servant was quick to see to them, and then Lia having introduced herself was lead away for her meeting. Riccardo made gestures to stay, to wait for the end of the meeting however long it was, instead of wandering off for a random amount of time.
When the servant came back to see he was still in the entrance, he was led off to a side room just by the entrance, allowing him a more comfortable place to sit. He thanked the servant but instead of sitting stayed on his feet to observe the decor. Paintings, flowers, furniture, rugs, whatever he laid eyes on he soaked in. He wasn't judging the choices, for he wouldn't know how to decorate a home, but rather trying to distinguish the particular taste and feel of the place. Riccardo heard a door open and in came wafting a wonderful smell. He guessed that the kitchen was in that direction, and closed his eyes a moment to try and process the smell better.
