Anger had spurred Stephane into action.
When the rage had cooled and his sense had prevailed, he considered the things he and his father had considered for some time. The plans they had not moved too swiftly with, the ideas they had not fully developed. Now, as he sat in his study considering the future, he found himself bound by action. There was no need to ponder on these things anymore, he would not let his kingdom slip away from a lack of action. And thus, three letters were penned by his hand that afternoon;
The first read thus;
The letter, was of course signed His Royal Highness, Prince Stephane Deveraux. For he still thought himself the next in line, it was just a matter of removing a certain obstacle or two.
The second letter was written after, the tone no less formal, and titled to the Duke of Shelbourne. The body of the letter read in the following manner;
The final letter was without the flaunt and flounce of his formal hand, but said;
And he did not sign that one, for he knew the woman concerned would know- that she would feel it in the tingling senses down the back of her spine.
Sealing two of the letters, and having them passed to the courtier, the third note was taken a different route- through a hand of a hand, and delivered to its place. Then he awaited responses. Stephane felt better for having done something. Yes. He felt better for it.

Lord Nicholas Remington,
It has occurred to me how obnoxious my actions have been of late. Since your arrival here, I have not taken the occasion to make myself known to you, to greet you properly as your status and my usual manner should allow. My behaviour has been abysmal, and I seek to rectify it. If you find this suitable, perhaps an early supper and the promise of good wine would be found attractive?

By your leave, your grace, I would like a word in your ear. There are things happening within our lands, wheels turning at such a pace that if they continue to grow to do so they would become irreversible. When a time to speak is suitable, I would gratefully appreciate your word.
The final letter was without the flaunt and flounce of his formal hand, but said;
I must see you.
