Being of female persuasion give Gwynver a natural edge; it meant that she could be a whole array of things and that where she to be questions upon them one would simply suggest that knowing a woman’s mind was a magic of its own. She had first learnt this from her father when he would be promptly scolded by her nurse and maiden if he enquired too harshly as to a bad or negative mood. But the learning had come much more quickly here in Bordelaix, because of the lack of a watchful eye from her parents, she had to learn with a much greater speed and sense of direction. So how had she learnt? It had not been to thrown herself boldly into adventure – as she had once imagined herself doing – but to watch and observe and bide her time. Very quickly she had started to frequent shops of an afternoon, or sit for hours in some of the market or garden areas. And though she would appeared to be reading or sketching a flora, she was more likely to be watching the world around her and the people here. They had swarmed from all over for the coronation, so many people with so many different ways of living and doing that Gwynver had never come across before.
Today, after fulfilling her jobs at the palace, she had taken herself off on her own to one of her favourite tea-rooms. It was a beautifully crafted building, with great finery and hangings on the walls, and she often found that knights and noble-women alike shared a table here and a light conversation. She had been here before and she had nursed sweetened water and had doodled on the parchment of her sketchbook whilst she listened most intensely to the conversation around her. Vyn loved it here and found she could often spend all day…She could waste away the whole afternoon, most contented, in this manner. But she was not here to waste away the day, she was meeting with her cousin for a little light refreshment.
And so, to the noise of the little bell, Vyn swept in. Her stunning azure eyes danced about the faces and nameless people to seek out the blonde she would recognise.
