The diet of Nacimiento has remained relatively unchanged from that which they enjoyed in the Old Country. The primary staples of their diet include bread, cheeses, fruits, starchy vegetables, pork, chicken, mutton, and fish. While they rely greatly on farming, game meat is also regularly incorporated, especially wild boar from the north. It is said, however, that Nacimiento has some of the finest pigs in the Kingdom. It is through trade with other regions that they are able to procure rice, legumes, and certain grain in addition to lighter wines. The general cuisine of the area is considered to be very rustic, especially in the recent centuries since the Sandovals' exile. Nonetheless, the people of Nacimiento pride them on being able to provide and enjoy wholesome foods.
Breakfast - This is often the simplest meal of the day. It will consist of milk, juices, and a pastry with fruit jams made of strawberries, blueberries or apples. Children usually enjoy a drink of heavy cream flavored with fruit or honey.
Luncheon - The most important meal of the day in Nacimiento. Business will frequently close in the cities for a few hours so that everyone may go home to families. Though it varies from family to family, it is not uncommon for the meal to consist of multiple courses starting salads and soups, moving on to the main course of meat and vegetables before concluding with a light dessert, usually a fruit pastry. Once consumed, families will often enjoy a period of rest that lasts a few hours before returning to the business of the day.
Dinner - Since the days end late in Nacimiento, dinner is typically a light affair of leftovers from luncheon or a light stew/soup. It is not uncommon for a glass of wine or a cup of soothing tea to be enjoyed.
