A most interesting development had come through in the shape and form of a lovely young woman, a ward of the Crown, the Lady Elsa Romanov. As one of few remaining Romanovs, and someone whom Emile felt was beyond suspicion of having murdered her kin, she was to be protected and doubly so. Whomever had seen it fit to remove the Romanovs in permanence may not be pleased to see that they had missed one.
He felt further that the woman was brave for being here - willing or not - and felt a certain level of pity for having to then take her through some questions. He hoped she would prove helpful and willing enough, he really had no intention to traumatizing the poor woman further, nor to demonize her or in reverse make himself and his family out to be bad people. He did, however, have a duty and that was to find the truth behind the nasty murders, to find the culprits and to bring them to meet the King - or Queen’s - justice.
Though the format would seem much like an interrogation, he knew it was likely she held some details, some proof or some other information that might lead them in the right path. Perhaps she did not know it, lest she have already blurted the name of the offenders and in one swoop also rid herself of a fatal threat. It was also possible she knew the killers, but could not or would not say. Indeed, while Emile did not think her an accomplice, he did not know that she was innocent altogether.
He was waiting patiently in a chair, joined already by his cousin Princess Mariette, while Lady Elsa was brought to converse. He wondered how she would be informed of this meeting and its contents, or if she would not be told a thing at all, leaving it to Emile to explain his goal and then so proceed.
