Daario was feeling a bit... odd at present. He had come across an interesting document, an arrangement pre-dating his ascension to Count, a document written and signed by his father and the late Count Fontaine. Its details were not surprising as far as business arrangements went, but given his present situation were considerably troubling. In exchange for assistance from the Fontaines in the form of food-stuffs and men to fight, the Saavedra Lord had promised one of his sons to wed a Fontaine daughter. Now, the only known living Saavedra male was Daario himself - and he was uncertain whether to reveal this knowledge.
The man had to sit on this information for a time. As it was, he had had a meeting with Lady Fontaine and her cousin, merchant and Lord Matthew Fontaine, and they had discussed the preliminaries of business between them. He had mentioned what he had discussed with Zorion, and that was his desire to establish a barony between their houses, out in the east of Estersea near the border. This outpost would help to defend their land from the Rohari, and also be an efficient trading route towards Desmira when the time was right. Now, however, Daario wondered at bringing up this second piece of business, and how it affected the former.
His invitation had been given by written word through a household member, and a date had been set and agreed upon. He'd invited Lady Fontaine to join him at his study, while also inviting her cousin to join her. This time, unlike last he preferred she come with an escort; if the topic would turn to marriage he could not afford the opportunity of gossip to suggest she - an unwed woman - being improper. He had the letter within the folds of his jacket, waiting until his final decision to reveal it. First, they could talk about the Barony some more, and follow up on the topics discussed previously. Should he choose a more personal business arrangement once he felt ready, he would show his hand.
