Stowing away in the Princesses' travel-train had been almost too easy, but it wasn't exactly comfortable for Elsa. Kjerstin had done her best, and so had Alexander, but she had to make sure she stayed out of sight until they were out of Vasile and well travelled into Shelbourne before she could be discovered. The commoner's clothing was comfortable, and she kept her dark hair braided out of sight under a big-brimmed hat pulled low over her eyes, her head down like a modest, meek serving-girl. No-one seemed to take much notice of her as long as she didn't say anything. Her accent would betray her as being from Vasile and there were no servants of Vasilean line in service that Elsa knew of.
Her body ached because she wasn't travelling in comfort, having to ride in a cart with some of the trunks that belonged to the Princesses. There were no springs, no cushions, and the bench was very hard. The corner of one trunk kept jabbing her in the back, but to Elsa, it was worth it to breathe the sweet air of freedom. Marcus would be furious when he found out, she was sure, but by then, she could hopefully throw herself on Princess Nicolette's mercy. She hadn't missed how the Crown Princess reacted to Marcus's refusal to her request, either. Just remembering it made her wince. Marcus had not chosen wisely there.
Regardless, thanks to Alexander and Kjerstin, Elsa had made good her escape and stayed undetected for now. They had crossed into Shelbourne today, and were a day or two out of Lockewood. What Elsa would do there, she wasn't sure, but maybe she would find her way to Bordelaix or some-where else from there before her presence was uncovered. She'd thought to bring some money with her, along with a small trunk of her own, but the time was rapidly coming where decisions had to be made. For now, she gratefully climbed down to help in the make-shift kitchen area as was expected of her, glad to stretch her legs and ease her aching back.
