The days that followed the departure of the royal princesses and their retinue had been a moment of relaxation for the youngest Romanov brother. Wilhelm had found himself spending quite some time in the same old tavern Marcus had introduced him to upon their younger years. It felt good to be back amongst the shadows where he wasn't judged or close to the center of attention. As the heir to the Duchy, he had been elevated on a certain pedestal during the royal princesses visit. Their main attention had been to discuss and get closer to Marcus, but the younger brother hadn't been completely forgotten.
However, it had now been four days and life in Vanderhall had gone back to its old routine. The family was back to their traditional dinners during the evening where wine and laughter were present. The number of participants had been reduced with the departure of Alexander and Annemarie. Though, there was one other participant lack of presence that had struck Wilhelm's attention and it had surely struck his siblings as well.
Elsa had not been present at the dinner table ever since the royal princesses departure. Something that Wilhelm had originally brushed off as her way of showing her disapproval of Marcus refusal to let her become a lady-in-waiting for one of the royal princesses. However, further discussions that morning had revealed that none of the kitchen staffers had seen or even prepared food for the youngest Romanov.
Wilhelm had searched Elsa's room and even Alexander's study thinking she'd be hiding in one of those locations. However, the rooms were empty and had no traces of her presence. Word had been subtly given out to the guards to search the castle for her. Hours had passed as Wilhelm waited seated at the Grand Hall table where the family usually ate.
"We have searched most of the corridors and rooms, my lord. We haven't been able to detect any signs of her recent presence." A guard spoke as he stood in front of Wilhelm's table. The young lord's brown eyes fell to the papers in front of him.
"Continue searching and bring me Claudia and any other person that has been known to be close to her." The young Romanov brother spoke. His voice was dry and to the point. He barely knew his youngest sister's thoughts or emotions, but she had never gone for such a period of time without showing a sign of life. The recent events that had struck the Romanovs family was still fresh on the man's mind. One could only wish Elsa hadn't been the newest addition to the list.
