Character History:
Galileo was born the eldest male. Not something easy to consider when it was with his family. He was a man who took charge even at a young age. Nothing was too small for him even if he was smaller than the world. He knew he would grow and couldn’t wait to do so.
In time he started to learn the lessons needed to be his family heir, or so he thought. Knowledge he found at an early age was something to have each and every day of ones life. In his mind if one was not learning one was not living.
He would never forget the day his siblings were born. First it was Emilia, who was one of a loud voice. He hated that she cried so much. Eventually the found out why and fixed it of course. Based on that as a boy he found he didn’t like babies. They were too loud, and they always needed something. He concerned himself less with the birth of his siblings and more with what he could do to help them along in life as they grew older.
He was always the big brother always the protector. If any of his siblings needed him it was easy enough for him to make time and be there. He looked out for the girls making sure nobody bullied them. He liked spending time with Emilia and Trista once they were of an age they could walk and talk. It was intriguing to see what they would come up with each day.
Time with his brothers was more spent in training and instruction. He had to study harder with them around. Had to make sure he came out on top. He couldn’t allow them to be seen as smarter than he was. Always a contest among them. Eventually when Trista was made to study he treated her the same way. She was the tomboy of the family after all. He saw no harm in her pursuits so far. That was more up to their father to decide not him.
Life was easy enough for him and his siblings. Well until the day he had to consider his role in the family. There was plenty of competition on who would be their father’s heir. Trista had taken over the family while he was at home working with the business. He was working more behind the scenes while she was leading the family. He didn’t like it, but he had accepted their father’s decision.
It was at age 33 when their father died. He noted how it affected his siblings. Each took it hard. Especially Trista. He tried to be there for her, but she didn’t make it easy. He would do what he could though hoping she would open up to him. She didn’t seem to though during this trying time. Gali kept himself busy as usual.
When he was 35, was when he married. She was a lovely thing and not a bad choice for him. He had met her when he was looking at a market not far from his own home port. He noted how she smiled at everyone and made them feel welcome. This was in his mind someone he needed to meet. She kept him on his toes, which he secretly loved. Although he wouldn’t admit such a thing. He grew to love his Gilda dearly, and she to love him. It was hard in a day not to make time for her.
Eventually they had children together. He was happy to have his sons. It was wonderful though when the daughter came along. He was a little surprised to find another son. It was a delight being there for each birth. His perspective on babies had changed too. It must have been because he helped make these perhaps. He did his best to spend time with his children as they were growing up.
He noted when his sibling each got married. He loved having the big weddings and the festivities around each one. He also held such events when they had children too. He loved having people around to celebrate things with especially when it came to family.
Another sad day came when Emilia passed away. She had been sad for so long from her husband passing away. She tried to fill the role of head of the house instead of Trista being the elder female. He understood this and let it be knowing not to stir up any waves from such things. She would come around and hopefully open up again. They didn’t get the chance though as her heart failed her. She was found in her office.
Gali talked to Emilia’s children. He let them know if they needed anything to come to him. He would see that they didn’t go without even if that meant giving one of them a job in the business. He would always look out for his own.
Trista took over fully after that. He wanted to contest it now that he was older and hopefully more wiser in this. He wasn’t sure how to do this though without stirring up a war. That was the last thing they needed considering their family history.
Out of his children, Rosie was favored really. She was the only female, and he often lectured his sons on her protection. He understood her free spirit and didn’t stop her when she wanted to pursue such things. He loved her drawings although he never told her he snuck peeks at them. When she wanted to ride he often went with her trying to stay as close as possible. For he knew there would be a day he would have to give her up to some male.
Tio and him had been close growing up. He was close with all his boys. He taught them how to be the best they could be. When they reached the right age he gave them a talking to about what a man should be. He had a speech ready and repeated it to any man he thought needed hearing it.
The day came though when he thought Tio should be pulling is weight in the family business. He knew his son went to the port to check on things. His other sons were busy either on a ship or taking charge in the business. He confronted his son on the matter. It was not a conversation that went well. Since that day Gali keep an eye on his son and kept trying to steer him in the right direction. It was why they weren’t close now a days.
Having his fill of days at home he decided to head to the Capital. He wasn’t the only sibling who stayed home, and things there were calm enough he could leave. It was time for him to take his rightful place in the family. Time for them to show their best foot forward to the world in his mind.

Oh no he had gone and done it now. The pretty lady with the smile for anyone who could see. He wasn’t sure how to get her attention like he wanted, but he could tell he wanted it. He hadn’t really been into chasing skirts, but now? Oh no he could tell he wanted to be around this one. Something about her spirit caught his eye.
He had sent her flowers, and she had tossed them away. It was strange how she was ignoring him when he was around her too. There had to be some way to gain her attention. Why was she ignoring him? What was it about this lady that intrigued him so? He didn’t know but he was going to find out if it was the last thing he would ever do!
