Interesting how neatly the family seemed to be divided up - Adam and Gideon, the twins, then Edmund prided himself on being his own man while the two youngest sisters were rather close. Obviously, their parents hadn't planned it so, but that didn't mean Lizzie didn't appreciate how fate could lend a hand. Sharing the humor over the twins was a large block in the foundation of her relationship with Ambrosia - the two found plenty to grin and laugh over where Maya and Helena were concerned, convinced at times that the four couldn't possibly come from the same parents. At times as a child, Elizabeth was convinced the twins were from another world altogether.
Her nose wrinkled at her sister, aware just how soft and romantic a heart that Ambrosia possessed. Try as she might, Lizzie accepted that there was probably no way she would ever talk her sister out of the hopes that there would be love for Elizabeth with a man in time. Since Rosie didn't try to change her, Lizzie sighed silently and reminded herself that she owed her sister the same courtesy. If Rosie wanted to hope and tease, then that was her right. And who knew what the future held?
She laughed softly at her sister's tease. "I was thinking that the blue parlor might be pleasant, especially for a late afternoon tea. The afternoon sunshine will come in and set the room to glowing, and the parlor looks its best then. What do you think?" At the mention of Adam, Elizabeth rested a reassuring hand then on her sister's. "He won't bite you, even if he looks grumpy enough to do so. He only wants a good marriage for each of us, and to know that we will be secure." When it came to her brothers, Lizzie was never afraid, not even of Adam.
