The Countess’s day on the hunt had been productive although hardly grandiose as she did not find the elusive boar. Still, a quail and two 6 point bucks lay tied down on Ranger’s back as her steed trotted back towards the open field. Now moving past the edge of the forest the woman’s blue eyes scanned the surrounding area to see if there was anyone else also emerging from behind, but so far it appeared she was the first to arrive back at the meeting place.
Looking ahead Lady Fontaine clicked her tongue urging Ranger to trot further ahead in the field towards the Deveraux banner marking the rendezvous point where they had gathered earlier in the day. Servants and knights alike both moved about the area encircled by carriages and wagons guarding the site while waiting for the rest of the participants to return. Unlike many of the nobility there Tamara had opted to forgo her carriage instead choosing to ride out on her own like she had done so many times in her not so distant youth. It was a small way for the Countess to regain some of her own independence albeit perhaps not the wisest of decisions. But then again all of them were riding back together as a group so there was little harm in it…
Dismounting she would give Ranger a break from having a rider on his back and perhaps even take some time to graze. Gently rubbing the neck of her animal the young woman spoke softly, "Good work today boy..." Carefully Tamara went to unhook both the bit and bridle letting the animal freely graze next to her confident Ranger wouldn't stray from her side. Again her gaze traveled to the forest line curious to see who had also found success on their adventure that day...
