The summons from her Uncle gave Martine mixed emotion, while the last conversation with Jean-Luc hadn't been terrible the princess felt the man had been irritated with her. Considering current circumstances his mood was understandably far worse, so Martine would need to be sure not to upset him any further. On the other hand, she was eager to prove herself to be more than just a burden on their family and was hopeful he had a task to distract herself with. If he was giving her a duty to commit to then perhaps she could earn back whatever she felt she had lost with her family, or lost within herself.
Escorted by two knights the Princess winded down the hallway reaching the archway of the door to the Lord Marshal's study. Taking a moment the young woman listened at the door for sounds of conversation to make sure she wasn't intruding before taking a step forward to lightly knock three times, "Uncle, it's Martine.... you sent for me?" Waiting Martine waited for his typically gruff response before going to slowly open the door to this study. Blue eyes shifted from the room to the pair of guards that flanked her, "Please wait out here for me..." Giving the knight's her order the princess did not wait for their acknowledgment as she stepped inside allowing the door to close behind her.
Taking a moment Martine allowed her blue eyes to scan the temporary study of her uncle while going to pick up the skirt of her royal blue dress. Giving the man a small dip of a curtsey the princess broke the silence once more, "Good Morning Uncle..." Her voice trailed deciding not to pry just yet into the reason for this meeting instead of going to stand. While the disappearance of Mariette was a heavy cloud hanging over them all there seemed to be something else in the air of the room. News perhaps? Swallowing hard the young woman slowly went to approach the desk slowly becoming more and more unsure of why Jean-Luc had indeed sent for her...
