House al-Azariya is remembered among the first of the Sand Men from the very beginning of its culture, its religion to the very commands of the Prophet Nabi himself who first commanded the Sand Men move to the mountains to escape the wrath of Sura. Among the tribes, the al-Azariya was the first to quickly claim the honor of wandering the great desert as nomads who claimed the entire desert as home. From that time, the Emir of al-Azariya has stood as the tribe's leader and its finest example of their practice in marriage to better ensure there would be enough heirs, enough brothers to fight, sisters to serve and marry off.
The Emir of al-Khalid was exalted as Caliph, his edicts obeyed, his tenets followed and House al-Azariya has always remained his unofficial enforcer. Ever wandering, ever seeing, and ever acting on his will and while the tribe does venture Rohari, the tribe’s routes enter into Estersea, Desmira, and Seravino. Considering the tribe’s numbers, nomadic experience, al-Azariya travels from oasis to oasis with impunity and total fearlessness of reprisals. Though House al-Azariya can easily attack and take, it prefers to trade - given the familial structure of the tribe, any death within its ranks is usually one of kinship.
With exposure to three differing cultures, the tribe holds the greatest experience with the men of Archades – those who live in grey stone castles where they sit idle and unprepared to handle the generations of al-Azariya riders who come by day and are gone by night. So peaceful trade is often the middle ground; the trading routes ridden for generations are maintained, recorded and ever ridden. Unique to the kingdom, al-Azariya is a House with no city, no standing home and yet this is where they found new strength, numbers always swelling, its people hardy, and their thirsts for more than just water.
House al-Azariya's practice of polygamy aids in the swelling of numbers as they host one of Rohari's largest armies of cavalry archers and lancers. As nomads, they are a standing army by lifestyle alone. Economy is built from the trade of Seravino gems and precious metals, Desmiran silk and spices, and Estersea's imports and exports as well as Rohari's salt, tapestries, gold, fruits and linen known to be the most breathable in the lands. It is a mystery how they move so quickly with so many goods, so much silver and gold allegedly hoarded in its chests.
