Since meeting Tyber in the tavern on that fateful night Adara had gotten to know the huge man a little better while he was wintering over along with Freddie here in Vulcanis. It wasn't easy going though; being female she'd been required to have a chaperone along and had often dragged her sister or a maid to the market with her where she would meet up with him at the inn at luncheon.
She had become somewhat attached to big gentle giant, developing a light friendship with him (and also with Freddie). The friendship was getting deeper though, as she was spending more time with him now since he'd decided to teach her how to wield a pole axe. But she'd wanted something more though, than just seeing him at luncheon or at training. So she'd gone to her mother and asked for permission to have a small dinner party. Just the guys, herself and her friend Regan Connell whom Freddie was still trying to woo.
Her mother had spoken to her father and permission had been granted and so this evening she'd bathed after training, had brushed her hair until it gleamed and left it hang loose and actually donned a gown of dark green silk, the color of the forest she so loved. Her mother had been proud. Surprised yes, but proud.
Dinner had been roast venison with baked squash and a small salad of a sort consisting of carrot, radish and various greens. Dessert had been poached pears in red wine. Somehow she'd managed to eat despite being completely nervous. This was very new to her!
But now dinner was over and she and her friends had retired to a small library already prepared with a crackling fire to chase away the chill of the winter. Inside were two small sofas that faced each other to make for easier conversation. Adara motioned for her guests to seat themselves and wasn't surprised when Tyber took the seat next to her. What she was surprised by was that he'd brought a lute, which had been brought into the room previous to their arrival.
"I didn't know you played an instrument." Curiosity clear in her eyes.
