Gabriel brought her the news that the other members of the Blackthorne family arrived in the city, the Lady Hélèna among them. A meeting with the Lord was eventually in order, yet it was the Lady with whom Aneira wished to meet first. As kindred souls and two of the few female members of an exclusive brotherhood, they derived support from each other and aided in each other's efforts. Recently, Aneira had bent her skills on inserting a few agents into the noble household belonging to the Lady Flavia Sforza on Hélèna's advice.
In that action there was mutual benefit; the Sforza were known to openly support the Deveraux cause, up to and including the marriage of a Sforza daughter to one of the Deveraux princes. Prince Benoit, in fact. The Snake, father of Stephane, the foremost rival to Nicolette. The more information she could glean on their collaborations to stand against Nicolette, the better as far as Aneira was concerned. Conversely, the more opportunities for Hélèna to spike Flavia's wheel that were presented, the better as well. A truly symbiotic relationship in the eyes of both women.
Looking forward to the reunion, an invitation was sent via Gabriel to his sister, encouraging her to join Aneira for tea in one of the more discreet locations available for a meeting. The light, airy parlor was set with comfortable chairs, a highly polished table set with a silver tea set and porcelain dishes on lace cloths. The cook had been set to work on an array of delicate foods and sweets suitable for a ladies' tea while Aneira groomed herself in a gown worthy of her companion. Hélèna was known as an arbiter of fashion; anything less would be disrespectful to her company.
Finally, with her dark hair arranged and adorned with a bandeau of black pearls and opals to match her gown, she settled in to greet her guest upon arrival, looking forward to a comfortable coze for the afternoon and a delicious dish of the most salacious of gossip morsels.
