Okay, so he was going to have to get some sort of apprentice. He simply couldn't manage the growth of his business without entrusting some duties to someone else. If he wanted the business to grow, it was his choice to make, and he saw no other good alternative. Of course he'd rather work with someone with relations to him, it would be easier to trust and keeps the profit in the House, but he lacked of choice there. Until he could manage to delegate some of the duties to someone else, it meant the Lord and Merchant had must to work it all out on his own.
A movement by the door had his attention, and Mateo looked up quickly. He'd decided to reposition how he set up his work bench so to better see from the door whenever a patron dropped in. He hated to keep them waiting, not only for it was rude but also might cost him their business.
The face he saw now, however, was friendly. One he knew already, and had known for a few years now. They both were merchants and had crossed pathes in some year prior as both set to make their business bloom. For Mateo's part, he'd left his home of Duefuemi in Seravino to live at the capital, and coordinates his trade from there. Last he'd checked, though, his friend Matthew was still in - what was it called? In Estersea...
"Matthew Fontaine! Welcome! It is good to see you." He called in surprised, quickly brushing his hands clean on a cloth set aside for that purpose, then came to the front of his shop, ready to embrace the man in a hug or a shake of hand if it was the vibe he'd gotten. Mateo didn't often get friends as visitors, not from far away places. "I was wondering if your family had come, I heard about your losses and I am terribly sorry," he started.
