It was hard to believe that Tristan had been a knight for almost three years. It felt like almost yesterday that Sir William had knighted him and granted him his spurs. It was the most momentous day in Tristan's life. Always, he would look back on that day in pride. Yet, Sir William had advised that this was merely the beginning. Tristan was a young man and he had a long career ahead of him. It would behoove him to think of possible ideas for the future. Did he want to be a wandering knight of Archades fort he rest of his life, or did he want to do something more specific?
During a recent patrol with Sir William, Tristan had come upon his idea. While traveling through the region of Estersea on the way back to Forestier, Tristan certainly had something of an adventure! ... But the details of such would be saved for his dear sister. Though he spent a great deal away from home, Tristan always made certain to have some sort of trinket or lengthy tail to tell Gwyn. She seemed to crave such things, especially since it made the pain of separation easier to bear. And this time, Tristan did have quite a tale to say!
Their home was in view as Sir Tristan and Sir William rode their horses to that which would welcome them with open arms. A pigeon had been sent well advance for the family to expect their arrival. Tristan was personally looking forward to seeing home. While he enjoyed traveling and took great pleasure in his duty, there was truly no place like home for the knight. The thought of seeing family again warmed his heart.
The horses thundered into the stables, Tristan letting out a breath as the mighty beast did so. Home. Swiftly, he dismounted, passing off the reins. The clothing he wore was in shades of dark green and brows, but they were a little dirty from travel. Nonetheless, he still struck a handsome figure.. not that he cared about such things. What he did care about was reuniting with family. Was Gwyn there to greet him?
