Faking calmness was one of the first lessons her father had instilled into the mindset of his youngest child. None of his children would be expected to turn into a puddle of nerves or succumb to the stresses of royalty, or so that was the illusion. Of course her brother Emile wasn't achieving this standard, but it didn't give her any excuse. If she did not want her father hovering around her then Martine would have to strive for excellence otherwise the man would find a way to get rid of her sooner. So although the young woman appeared every bit the calm, and posed musician waiting for her audience indeed the Princess' stomach was churning from bundled nerves.
Discretely she had a servant send a simple letter to the Crown Princess' own hand maiden, both paid in a fair some of coinage so that they understood the message not to be shared with anyone else. If her father found out that she had sought out the Crowned Princess for anything there would be questions, and it would be better for everyone if he simply did not know. The note was penned by Martine's own elegant hand and read as followed,
There had been times in the past the Princess had sought out Nicolette's opinions on her pieces and Martine was a bit temperamental on the process of her compositions, so she hoped the Crowned Princess would indulge her. The note and the set up was a bit of a ruse which she would have to later apologize for later since Martine wanted to form a valid excuse for their meeting in case her father did indeed find out about it.
Already Martine was in her small music room, curtains drawn so that no one from the outside world could peer in at her. Although the room was far from dark as she had candles lit everywhere giving the room a bit of an otherworldly ambiance as her fingers danced over the keys of the fortepiano. Dressed in a light lavender dress with a jeweled bodice a a string of pearls were laced with the lady's as her blonde locks were pulled back into an elegant updo. Even alone in a room with no one around the woman still looked every part the princess as she waited hopefully for the would be queen to arrive...

Your Excellency,
I apologize for being troublesome cousin, but I was hopeful to gain your opinion on a piece I am composing for the upcoming harvest festival. If you have a moment of time perhaps you could stop by my music room the afternoon of October 4th? I will be composing most of the afternoon, so if you have the time please come whenever it is most convenient for you.
Also, I do humbly request that you come only with a trusted guard if possible. I have been composing this in secrecy and I am insecure in it's tone.
Thank you for your indulgence on my sensitivities,
Sincerely,
Martine
