Daario read over the letter, more than once so. It seemed to him the Lady Regeant, now Countess of Treveno did not trust him. He did not know her personally, could not honestly say she had reason to trust him beyond his relationship with Zorion Ibarra. Further, he’d expected she might invite a trusted family member, not extend the invitation to another family altogether. It would be off-putting to refuse to attend, or to question the man’s attendance, however, and Daario had no real hesitation for the Marquess to join them. He wondered upon the use of the Lady Kattalin in a meeting intended for business, though she seemed a trusted advisor of Zorion’s, similarly to Zianna’s position in his own life.
He wrote an acceptance, sent it off, and went about his day. He had met with Zorion only some evenings prior, which meant the men were on a more caught-up position. Lady Flavia couldn’t have known of their meeting upon extending her invitation, so he couldn’t fault her the redundancy. He had half a mind of inviting Zianna with him, he felt it would be more of a social event than a business one at the moment, but then he desisted. By the following day, all was set for the Count to find his way to the Inn. Per usual, he had an armed escort, and he himself bore a weapon. He had his men see him into the establishment, but were otherwise not to escort him to the table - whether they chose to have their own or wait outside was their choice.
Per her suggested location, as he offered her the choice, he was now at the Silver Lotus, standing by the entrance as he asked of the arrival of either of the figures he expected to see. He hadn’t been here before, though Lady Flavia had commended the menu, which meant he wasn’t completely relaxed, but he saw no harm to come of this get-together. If anything, he could walk out of there with the satisfaction of having done his due diligence, not intending to slight any of the Estersea vassals, or his other business partners, while he was here.
