It was a truth Aldano learned when he was a teenager, a man could have all the glory in the world, a king all the fame, and a nobleman all the influence. But without gold, without control of a treasury all of the prior meant absolutely nothing, coin was the first stepping stone to power and without taking that first step you may as well have been a commoner. So he who controlled the treasury held the greatest potential for influence, power, and glory. when she mentioned cultivating and using the routes domestically Aldano nodded only once. "Of course, cannot dismiss domestic trade potential."
When it came to Aldano's skill he would never be one to brag of it himself, but he had heard the whispered curses spewed at his mentor, and his mentor's house. But as it was said before, without gold your words of influence meant nothing and Aldano knew that lesson very intimately. He'd been there first hand for some trades, but Lord Blackthrone as good of a teacher as he was, he was not a man to teach everything he knew. Somethings in his repertoire remains proprietary, and to himself a fact Aldano had to ultimately accept and move on about.
On the macabre subject of the dead royal, Aldano would not allow one of his kin's men to be to reckless one would find their spirits dampened, and their humility increased there was no room in the grand plans for recklessness or stupidity a Sandoval would not and should not behave in such a way. It was beneath them, when Angelia spoke of marriage and suitable brides Aldano bowed his head low to her in respect for her words. "Thank you, I'd like to think I am as well though.." He raised his cane with visible difficulty.
"I'm certainly not dedicating any tournament victories to any ladies anytime soon." He joked though not laughing, he was aware his blight of gout no doubt made him unappealing to many ladies who envisioned a man like ... Dante who was tall, handsome, able bodied to given them what their bodies sated. Aldano on the other hand, the sickly, skinny and crippled man who could barely defend himself. Aldano recognized this issue so he had to make means in other ways, be valued in other ways where his body failed him he would ensure his mind did not.
Then the mention of the festival he rose a brow but nonetheless remain stoic, "Oh, I've considered the options... and the idea of it it intriguing." He actually considered many options within it, so many great options he could select from and many of which were realistically plausible. "Any plans of your own to participate?" Aldano asked curiously.
