It was a new species! It had to be! With Annemarie and Gwynevere off on one of their plant explorations, Alexander had been left to his own devices. The morning had been spent looking over texts regarding Courtly Law and history of the Royal family. It was not that Alexander was necessarily ignorant of such things, but he figured that a refresher on the topics would be good for him. However, that could only occupy his time for so long.
As such, he had taken to exploring the estate of Lockewood. While touring the nearby grasslands, he happened to spy upon a particular flower. At first, he nearly ignored it. It was just another violet. However, with a start, he remembered that it was a bit late for violets to be blooming. This necessitated a closer look! When he did so, he realized it was an entirely different species. It was new! It was something that he had never seen before! Surely, Annemarie would be pleased to see it.
Thus, he pulled out his notebook and began taking copious notes on its location and description. It was while he was doing so that the guards made their approach of him. At first, he was concerned that he had ventured onto lands he oughtn’t be. Upon asking what the matter was, Alexander was informed that he had been summoned by Princess Nicolette. The scholar was torn. He looked between the flower and the guards, uncertain as to what to do.
Fortunately, a nearby patch of the same flower was spotted. Moving quickly, he plucked up the flower nearest him, carefully placed it in his notebook and firmly clapped the thing shut. Only then did he go quietly and respectfully with the guards. Upon his arrival, he spied both Elsa and Wilhelm. This immediately told him the topic of the meeting. Oh, dear. “Cousin Wilhelm! It is agreeable to see you again,” even if it was not under the best of circumstances. He finished his arrival and bowed respectfully before Nicolette, “Your Royal Highness. What can I do for you?”
