Alexander listened carefully to what Annemarie had to say, glancing over toward the youngest Princess's location with a thoughtful look. Indeed, the young woman did look as though she wanted to dance, but Alexander knew he could not promise her to be the most exciting or engaging dance partner. Indeed, if he had brought up such to Annemarie, she would no doubt point out he was doubting himself unnecessarily. He could see it in her eyes. She was going to push the man out to the floor, whether he truly wanted it or not. It would be good for him. "And then perhaps later. You and I could-"
Yet, the request was cut off at the approach of a younger man. A greeting was exchanged between them before he seemed to shift his attention to Annemarie. His mouth opened to say something, but nothing came out. Who was this man? And he had met Annemarie already? Earlier in the day? What? What was this all about? It was such a strange sensation that he was feeling. Yet, he quickly dismissed it. Annemarie would surely talk to him about it later. After all, there was very little they hid from each other.
Yet, something was settled at the back of his mind. It was an odd thing. Alexander had this urge to dance with Annemarie. It seemed something primal had told him that he would have a dance with Annemarie tonight and that he would make it so. It was firm resolution. It would happen. As such, he turned to Annemarie and nodded his head, "Enjoy yourself. I shall seek you out after a time." The words seemed to carry a curious weight to them... one he could not fully recognize.
With such words issued, he turned and made his way over to the young Princess Juliette. "Your Highness," he stated after his approach and issued her a polite bow, "While I cannot promise to be a fine dancer, I can promise to be pleasant company at the very least. May I have this dance?"
At least he was honest.
