Annabella had tried to decline, but frankly it wasn’t her choice. She was sent back to the Tesoros, which she did not dislike but felt she had somehow done something wrong to deserve it. Now that both families were in Bordelaix, she expected there to be some confusion, but at least it was settled. Having moved her belongings with her into a room at the Tesoro home, she felt acutely out of place. Neither was she a Savarese, neither had she been with her own blood in a couple of years such that she felt a stranger even more so than before.
That said, it was easy and quick for the youngest cousin and sibling to get along with her family and to try and get back into the swing of things. Listening at meal times were a font of information to keep her apprised as to the goings-on of their lives, which offered perspective for future conversation. She didn’t pretend to be close with any of them, aware also that she had hardly written letters in the last few months out of indolence, but at least she was willing and interested to remedy that.
It was perhaps with a bit of nerves that she came into the sitting room and prepared for tea and finger foods to be readied. She had talked with her twin cousins, Giuliana and Sophia, to join her for a chat. She had made it clear it was only if they were available, not wishing to disturb them in the least. Hopefully they would turn up, though, for Annabella felt all the more out of place when left alone. She fidgeted in her seat, eyeing the low table that was prepared repeatedly for any detail out of place. As it was, Annabella nearly jumped out of her skin - though at least did jump to her feet - when the door finally opened.
