There was a part of the Marshal who felt guilty for drawing Kattalin away from the other nobility who had arrived for the hunt, a small part. While it hadn’t been her initial intention for them to go off together in search of prey Therese was pleased with the outcome, it would be easier to make sure her cousin was safe during the event. The journey, the trip to the capital itself had created unspoken tension that the Dame would rather be done with. It was why she had been distancing herself with her duties and making efforts into socializing outside of her comfort zone. If any of helped the woman had no way of knowing, but she supposed now was not the time to discuss it. Or at least that is the excuse she would tell herself…
Turning her head back to Kattalin the woman offered her a smile, “Is there a beast you are hopeful to find cousin?” Truthfully for as much as Kat liked to brag about Therese’s skills as a hunter the woman did not enjoy hunting as much as she ought to. It was morbid honesty, but she would find more fulfillment out of hunting down criminals, they in her mind deserved it. Ever since she was a girl she had a fondness for animals and found it difficult at times to ignore it. However, if they were able to find the boar the sport of tracking down a large beast would in no doubt change her mind.
Her left hand pulled back on the reins of her steed calling the animal to a halt before reaching for her bow. She had thought she had heard movement up ahead, but the woman could not be sure. Her hazel eyes squinted looking ahead listening for further signs of movement a hand motioned to warn her cousin to be ready just in case...
