Like any brother worthy of the name, Adair was a man on a mission to find some sort of gift to cheer his youngest sister up, and maybe find something for Bel while he was at it. It had been far too long since he'd seen a real smile on Kenna's face, and he hadn't seen Isobel in several months now. He wouldn't see her until Princess Marie-Louise returned from Vanderhall, supposedly in a month or two once the business that sent them there was completed.
Deciding that while he was in the mode (and the mood) to indulge the females of his family, he needed to include Melari, Adair walked easily along the aisles of the area staked out for the special harvest market, eyes taking in the various offerings in the hopes that inspiration would strike him for each of the three ladies in his life. There was no lack of the lovely, the exotic, the useful, and the ornamental, but he was not willing to obtain just anything, preferring to match the gift to the recipient's personality. The three were as different as sunrise, sunset, and moonrise, presenting a considerable challenge he continued to peruse the booths' offerings.
Pausing at a jeweler's booth, Adair was struck by the work on display, finding it unique and appealing at the same time. His attention arrested, he continued his examination of the items spread on the table. There were brooches and bracelets, dainty earrings and pendants, but what truly caught his eye for Kenna was a pair of delicate combs made of what he thought might be amber. Deciding they were ideal, he lifted his gaze at a flicker of movement, hoping to catch the booth's owner or attendant as he also lifted a hand.
