The Deschenes lady was slowly pacing back and forth in the stillroom of the castle trying to calm her nerves. Ever since she found out that Princess Mariette had been kidnapped the seventeen-year-old had been wrecked with guilt. She should have noticed that maid was out of place, the oddity of the tea, and most of all she should have known about the visiting Prince. There was a part of Gwynevere who felt she had ultimately failed the princess having been too distracted by the dangers of the snow sickness to be a proper lady in waiting to the Princess. And now soon enough all of them would be sent back to Court with no certainty that Mariette would return. What would Tristan do once he found out that the princess did not come back? Would be so reckless as to go after her?
Blue eyes glanced to the door of the room thinking she had heard movement as she slowed down to a stop. Hands quickly went to smooth out the skirt of her blue gown as she rethought over her proposal. While she did not know Lady Aneira very well the Baroness did have the ear of not only the Lord Marshal, but rumors were even of the king. She knew the former to be true and at the very least the lady would be easier to speak with than Jean-Luc. If Lady Aneira did truly think her idea or plan to be foolish however Gwynevere would have to abandon it or risk shame on her own rank if not family. Hopefully, the servant had found the other lady and given her the small note in time.
Watching as the door to the room open the girl gave a small smile of relief as she saw the Baroness enter, "Lady Aneira... thank you for coming..." The girl gave the Baroness a small curtsey before going to rise, "I apologize for the secrecy of my letter... but I am in need of your ear and possibly your assistance." Taking a breath the young lady paused, "But please feel free to have a seat if you wish and I prepare some tea if you'd like..."
