Their time in Anzio was finished with mixed results, yet Angelia was more than ready to be gone from the place. There was a miasma hanging over the village that left her uneasy, one she could not explain. The sooner they put the place behind them, as far as she was concerned, the better. They had done what they could to unite the feuding families and perhaps planted the seeds of support for their own agenda in the form of suggestions for the future. This morning, the Sandovals would sail for the western portion of Archades.
As their trunks were loaded onto the ship for their first leg of travel, one the family would enjoy together, Angelia looked over the still slumbering village with dark, unreadable eyes. She could not explain why she would be glad to see the last of the place, instead moving forward to stand at the forecastle, not yet ready to go belowdecks. Sailing did not necessarily come easily for her, and the seabreeze helped her to think. There were a number of details to review with her family before they reached the opposite coast and parted ways; Maricela, Rosalinda and Sebastian were heading for the city of Lockewood while Dante, Rafael and she would go towards Bordelaix to meet with Gabriel.
It was a little odd to think of her sister married yet she had every confidence in Maricela's charm and beauty as snares for the long-elusive Gardiner duke. For as much as Angelia held a measure of respect and affection for her cousin, her preference was naturally to see Cela so well settled as the Duchess of Shelbourne. A bride needed to be found for Rafael as soon as possible too, per their father's latest letter. Joaquin wished his ducal heir to return home soon with that bride to begin assuming some of the Duke's duties and establishing his nursery. The thought of Rafael as a father made her smile a little, albeit wistfully. That experience would likely never be hers.
For Sebastian, she hoped to see him take a role with the Royal Archivist or in the Royal Library. Her brother loved nothing and no one so well as books; he only wanted the peace to study, read and write. And Dante, her twin, the living embodiment of the family's hope, would begin his campaign to woo and win the Crown Princess and her throne. Angelia's thoughts strayed briefly to that odd minstrel from Lavigne, wondering if he was likely to pass through Bordelaix. Then wondered why she wondered such; she could not afford to be distracted.
Where was the rest of the family?
