It was the start of a new adventure in Montenoire! Having received their father's blessing, gathered the necessary supplies, and done all the packing they could ever need, their belongings needed to be loaded on the ship. There was some brief debate as to whether or not they should book passage on a merchant vessel or to use a ship of the Remington fleet. In the end, the latter was selected. The Grand Duchy of Montenoire was to make an impression on the Kingdom of Archades and what better way than to do so from the deck of one of their finest ships?
The Sea Horse was one of the newest additions to the fleet being a carrack of three masts and equally impressive sails. The deep and broad hull ensured plenty of room for provisions for crew, guests and merchants. Though the cabins were small, the Remingtons would be afforded some privacy during the voyage and a private dining room was the icing on the cake. Fortunately for all involved, the journey was not to be an overly long one but Nicholas had a feeling they would all be eager to see land by the end of it.
Nicholas Remington, having dressed himself in the role of an all too dashing rogue, had spent the better part of the day making sure that everything was loaded on to the ship. He had said his farewell to his father earlier that morning. "Ah, very good, Captain!" The man laughed to see a crate being carried up the gangplank. The distinctive clatter of bottles could be heard along the way. A sly wink was given to the man. "Just enough to make the journey interesting, aye?" A laugh followed the question.
What was in the crate? Well, they would just have to find out later, wouldn't they? Now, where were the ladies?
