It was turning out to be a rotten day for him. So far he had only bagged a rabbit. It was surprised he even shot that. He sighed and shook his head his makeshift bow and arrows weren't doing him well. If only he had feathers for the arrows. This was sad indeed. He was trying to think of how he could make this rabbit last. If anything he wasn't eating well. Nuts and berries only went so far.
He shook his head not sure if he should even try heading back home. It was the closest place, and he could work for his food. He wasn't great at much, but hey there had to be something he could do. He was about to do just that when they got the jump on him. His bow was on his back. He pulled his sword making them laugh. There were five of them and only one of him.
Before he could move they knocked his sword from his hand. One of them picked it up and laughed at it. He broke it over one of the rocks nearby. Luce didn't move knowing they would take point. He would have to fight them he had nothing but a rabbit and the bow and arrows now. He dropped those knowing arrows wouldn't help him here.
"One prince and five of us. Give us your money and will let you," he said and Luce sighed. He told them he had nothing. One of them found his horse. This wasn't good. He had nothing more, but they weren't satisfied. One of them put their sword to his throat. He waited for the end as another searched his pockets.
"He's telling the truth. He ain't got any coin," the one said. Since that was the truth he wasn't sure what they would do to him. The one on his horse laughed and rode away. The one with the sword pulled it back as the one who searched his pockets punched him in the gut. He doubled over and thought maybe that would be the end of it. It wasn't though. The one with the sword stabbed him in the leg. He went down as they left him. He sighed and leaned against a rock not sure what else to do. He tore his shirt and put it against the wound.
As he sat there he thought he heard something. It had been about five or ten minutes since the attack. He stayed silent not sure what was coming his way. No matter what though he had nothing. He looked around and saw a rock. He picked it up since that was his only weapon ready to toss it at anyone who might approach.
